Why not caring will the best thing for your blog photography

We've all been there. Whether it's at the start of your blogging 'career' or whether you're a well established super blogger, every single one of us have had that 'can we just hurry up' feeling when taking photos for our blog because we're conscious that everyone is staring and laughing.

It's scary, I mean, if you're like me and not exactly a model it can feel very uncomfortable - I guess I always think people are thinking 'who does she think she is, Gigi Hadid or something.' For the record, I do not think I'm Gigi (I mean those legs are probably half a mile longer than mine for a start!) and I start to think that everyone can see, and are thinking about, my flaws.

The truth is, they're not.

Yes okay, people probably do see it as a bit 'weird' because it's not something that they do themselves or see very often. I mean, blogging is definitely a unique community and what is normal to us, is not for other people.
But lately I've really started to just not give a s**t and I think it shows a lot more in my photos.

This is probably for a couple of reasons, the first being that I don't just run for cover after ten minutes saying 'I'm sure that will be fine' and secondly, I feel more confident and it shows.
Now, the last thing I want to do is blow my own trumpet....my blog photography is still not as good as many out there, but for me I have noticed some small changes and they make me happy to see.

I know it's cliche but it really is all about confidence. I've started to care a lot less about what people think and I say let them laugh, if anything they're probably jealous that you have the guts to do it in the first place.

What are your top tips for great blog photography?

  5. I couldn't agree more with you! It took me quite a while to gain the confidence to have outfit shoots in public places where people would pass by and stare, and it certainly was scary and embarrassing first. But now I'm just like let them stare, at least I'm getting nice pictures for my blog, haha! Oh, and these pictures and the whole outfit looks really good, loving the otk-boots with the dress! ♥︎ xx

    1. Thanks so much hun! To be honest I still try to choose times and places where the number of people around is kept to a minimum but that's mostly because I don't want to get them in the photos haha Sunday mornings are probably the best!
